Everlasting Moments

A working-class Swedish woman wins a camera in 1900 and, ever… so… slowly…, it helps her realise her own worth and gives her self-expression in a society that’s male-dominated and believes you stick with your husband, even though he’s a drunken womaniser who’s not averse to the occasional marital rape. Packed full of Scandinavian stoicism, this is all too episodic and plodding, but the performances are good. 6/10
