Bill Nighy plays, well, Bill Nighy (with a moustache) in this slightly uneven farce about a hitman who falls for his latest target, compulsive thief Rose (Emily Blunt). He becomes her protector, even though it involves confronting his sexuality, his stitched-up, lonely life… and his mother.
Anything starring Bill Nighy is watchable; anything starring Emily Blunt (yum) even more so; and anything starring Rupert Grint is usually a Harry Potter film. But there you go. The highlight of this is watching EB looking sultry in a variety of fantastic outfits, but the idea of her and BN as a couple is a little creepy – especially if you saw them starring together in Gideon’s Daughter (2005) as, yes, father and daughter. 6/10
