Sylvester Stallone is 66 but still has his trademark muscles and slightly brain-injured diction. He also has the hair of a much younger man, which I hope he returned after filming.
In this, he plays a New Orleans hitman who whacks a bent cop, then sees his partner get whacked. Then he joins forces with the only honest cop in the city to find out who’s trying to whack the whackers.
It’s humdrum B-grade action with clunky exposition and genre clichés (‘Bad guys are chasing me, so how about I run into this deserted car park?’). But it’s redeemed by occasional flashes of wit that show it doesn’t take itself too seriously and that Sly knows he’s getting a bit old for all this. 6/10
